In a heartwarming collaboration, Fanatics, MLB, and Make-A-Wish North Texas organized an extraordinary experience for six special children and their families during the MLB All-Star Weekend at Choctaw Stadium in Arlington this summer.

The excitement began at 9 AM on Sunday, July 14, with the day packed full of unique surprises and VIP experiences, including a shopping spree and meeting MLB legends.

“We would not have been able to craft such an event-packed wish experience without the support of Fanatics,” says Sarah Morado, Senior Wish Manager at Make-A-Wish North Texas. “Thanks to our amazing partners, the wish kids and their families not only attended every event from MLB All-Star week but also received tons of swag, VIP experiences, and one-of-a-kind memorabilia.”

The wish kids were chosen from a group of children who had requested to attend the MLB All-Star game this year. Through the generosity of Fanatics, Make-A-Wish was able to accommodate all the wish kids and their families.

Orlando Ashford, the Chief People Officer for Fanatics, says they have been ecstatic to be Make-a-Wish’s official sports partner.

“We’re moving up towards almost 300 wishes granted since we started the partnership back in October,” Orlando says. “And for those of you that are here for this weekend, we want to do our part to make sure that this weekend is super, extra special.”

The week was filled with surprises. It began with a welcome reception featuring Futures stars Brady House and Harry Ford. The kids attended the first day of the MLB Draft from floor seats and had special access to the All-Star Village, where they enjoyed a $250 shopping spree. Each wish kid also had the unique opportunity to create their own trading card with Topps. They had field access to batting practices and enjoyed the Home Run Derby and All-Star Game from their own suite.

Meeting MLB legends like Fergie Jenkins and Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez was a highlight, giving the wish kids an opportunity to see their heroes up close.

“It really gave the wish kids an opportunity to see their heroes up close. It made their dreams tangible. These were the moments when their wish made the impossible possible,” Sarah emphasizes.

Reflecting on the event, Sarah shares her hope is that the kids were able to create lifelong memories throughout their wish experience along with a sense of belonging and joy.

She also encourages the community to get involved in supporting Make-A-Wish in creating magical experiences for kids.

“There are so many ways to get involved. Giving financially or giving of your time and talents are great ways to enhance wish experiences. Connect with our team, and we can find a way to get you connected with our mission,” Sarah says. “Please visit Make-A-Wish North Texas.”

This special day at the MLB All-Star Weekend was more than just a game for these children; it was a dream come true, made possible by the collaboration between Fanatics, MLB, and Make-A-Wish. The community’s support in making such magical experiences a reality for these kids was invaluable, leaving a lasting impact filled with hope and joy.
