More than 100 golfers beat the heat to play in the Earl Young’s Team 2021 Golf Invitational on Monday, July 26, at Stonebriar Country Club. Proceeds from the invitational will go toward raising awareness and registering donors to save those diagnosed with blood cancer, as well as scholarships awarded to nursing schools that assist with stem cell/bone marrow drives on their campus.

Earl Young competed at the 1960 Olympics and won a gold medal in the 4 × 400 m relay setting a new world record at 3.02.2. He finished sixth in 400 m, in a time of 45.9 s that matched the former Olympic Record. “We are so grateful to our generous Sponsors and the awesome golfers who braved the heat to support Earl Young’s Team,” Earl says. “We look forward to getting back on university campuses and registering students to become stem cell donors to SAVE LIVES of those diagnosed with blood cancer!”

As Earl’s college classmate, it was a pleasure to help in the fight against blood cancer and a joy for three generations of Miller boys to be able to be a part of it.
