Humble Beginnings Luncheon

The luncheon raised $1.1M and was attended by more than 800 attendees. The funds raised will drive awareness around the issue of homelessness and how Austin Street Center has been working diligently to bring solutions and partnerships that help the city’s most vulnerable population find a permanent place to call home.

This year’s luncheon, co-chaired by Michelle Thomas and T. Dupree Scovell, with Elaine Agather serving as honorary chair, marked a significant milestone in the mission to end homelessness. Austin Street Center honored The Addy Foundation with the prestigious Norm Hitzges Distinguished Service Award, recognizing their long-standing dedication to the Center and their impactful leadership within the Dallas community. Additionally, Texas Health Resources received the Community Leadership Award for their outstanding commitment to supporting the city’s most vulnerable homeless population through their medical respite program, a partnership with Austin Street and other Dallas County hospitals.
