Syzygy x SOLI Chamber Ensemble: Celebrating Steve Reich’s 90th Birthday and SOLI’s 30x30x30 Project

Syzygy, SMU’s contemporary music collective made up of some of our most advanced and adventurous students, joins forces with one of the nation’s leading chamber ensembles, SOLI Chamber (https://solichamberensemble.com/), as they celebrate their 30th anniversary with 30 newly commissioned works. We perform a selection of these works on this program and feature a work from our composition faculty member, Xi Wang. To cap the evening off, a rollicking and riveting performance of Steve Reich’s Double Sextet brings it all to a rousing conclusion in celebration of Reich’s 90th birthday.
