The 2024 Spring Dance Concert will feature works by guest artists Stephanie Martinez and Cameron McKinney, and new jazz faculty member Alvon Reed. Award-winning, Chicago-based Martinez will present the Dallas premiere of her nostalgic contemporary ballet Something To Remember You By. McKinney will premiere a new work, derived from his currently developing Nagare Technique, a training module that blends streetdance styles, Butoh and contemporary
floorwork. Meadows Dance jazz professor Alvon Reed will premiere And Then There Was Me… a new work that delves into the dancers’ journey towards finding individuality, featuring original music by SMU M.F.A. vocal performance candidates J’Von Brown and Jasmine Williams.
