Sammons Jazz: Coming Full Circle

Founding Artistic Director, saxophonist, and composer Vicho Vicencio makes his way back to the Sammons Center just in time for the 35th anniversary of Sammons Jazz. Vicho served as Artistic Director from 1989 to 1996. Joined by his band, this blast from the past promises to launch both the Fall concert series and the ever-evolving jazz tradition forward for years to come.
Another ‘Original’ Sammons Jazz Artist, Heather Paterson shares her polished presence and crystalline voice as she returns with her band Heather Paterson & Straight Ahead. Now retired from a notable career in nursing, Heather will cure what ails you with a fantastic selection of standards and pieces from the Great American Songbook with the help of Tony Palos on piano, James Driscoll on bass, and Mike Drake on drums.
