The Mammogram Poster Girls are thrilled to announce their newest program to help save lives…one mammogram at a time: Jamie’s Light of Love was created to provide free screening mammograms for under/uninsured women under 40 at high risk of developing breast cancer.
Light of Love was inspired by Jamie Rodriguez, a tireless supporter and advocate for breast cancer screening for younger women who raised awareness and funds for early detection even as she was fighting for her life undergoing breast cancer treatment.
Jamie lost her battle with breast cancer in on New Year’s Eve at the age of 37.
Jamie’s Light of Love is a program focused on providing screening mammograms for women under the age of 40 at high risk of developing breast cancer (women with a close family history of breast cancer–i.e. mom, sister(s), aunt(s) who have had breast cancer).
Proceeds from the 2023 Mammogram Poster Girls’ Sweetheart Supper will fund (over) 40 Light of Love mammograms for women under 40–free of charge for those who are under/uninsured!
The first Light of Love mammography event will be held in partnership with Methodist Health System on April 14th from 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.. The Methodist Health System Mobile Mammography Unit will be hosted by BuddyLove, 2264 Vantage St, Dallas, TX 75207. Appointments (and a risk assessment) are required.
Call Linda Gage (MHS Breast Cancer Nurse Navigator) 214.9417.1771 for your risk assessment and to schedule a Light of Love mammogram appointment.
The Mammogram Poster Girls is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization founded in 2018 to raise awareness of, funds for, and to create programs for, the early detection of breast cancer. Services are provided free of charge for under/uninsured women.
