JUNIOR LEAGUE OF DALLAS INVITES THE COMMUNITY TO VOLUNTEER DURING THE 29TH ANNUAL MAYOR’S BACK TO SCHOOL FAIR

Community members are now invited to volunteer for the 29th Annual Mayor’s Back to School Fair, scheduled for August 1, 2025, at Fair Park. This signature event, a collaborative effort between the Office of the Mayor of Dallas, Dallas Independent School District (DISD), Junior League of Dallas, local nonprofits, corporations, and dedicated volunteers, plays a vital role in supporting economically disadvantaged students and their families across the city.

Each year, the Mayor’s Back to School Fair serves more than 10,000 students from pre-K to 12th grade, providing them with essential school supplies, valuable services, and community resources, all for free at one convenient location. The fair offers a wide range of health and social services, including immunizations, dental screenings, vision exams, and more, all delivered by local businesses, healthcare providers, and community organizers.

Volunteering at the Mayor’s Back to School Fair is an excellent opportunity for community members to make a meaningful impact on the lives of Dallas students and their families as they prepare for the upcoming school year. The following areas currently need volunteers: Greeters/Line Control, On-Site Check-In, School Supply Distribution, Information Booth & Referral, Parking Lot Control, Hydration Station Assistants, and Volunteer Hospitality. Some volunteer positions will be assigned the week before the event, while most training will take place in-person on the day of the fair. Please note that all volunteers must be 18 years old at the time of their volunteer shift and are required to complete and pass a background check.

Registration closes on July 18th. Those volunteering as part of a corporation or volunteer group should list their company or group name under “Group or Org name” to help the committee coordinate and staff groups together whenever possible.
