From Hurt to Hope: New Book Launch Brings Real Talk, Real Stories, and a Community Conversation to Dallas

September 20, 2025 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Free

Dallas, TX – September 20, 2025 – If you’ve ever felt like your story didn’t matter, this event is for you.

HarpeRoney Consulting invites the public to From Hurt to Hope: The Private Launch of Silence Split Open, a powerful afternoon of storytelling, reflection, and community. The event will be held on Saturday, September 20, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Black Box Theater inside the Lochwood Branch Library, 11221 Lochwood Blvd, Dallas, TX.

The centerpiece of the event is the release of Silence Split Open, the new memoir by Charles M. Harper Sr.—a U.S. Navy veteran, educator, and father who shares his journey from survival to self-discovery. His story touches on the realities many people live through but rarely talk about: growing up in poverty, navigating identity, family struggles, and learning how to heal after years of silence.

“This isn’t just my story,” Harper says. “It’s the story of anyone who’s ever had to carry pain without a place to put it. I’m not pointing fingers. I’m opening a door.”
