In honor of Fire Prevention Month, First Alert is partnering with Lowe’s and Murphy first responders on an educational demonstration where guests can participate in fire safety demonstrations and learn about best safety practices. Murphy families are invited to attend the free event, which will include the Murphy Fire Department and Murphy Police Department, starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14 at the 111 East FM 544 Lowe’s location. Activities are designed to teach community members about installing smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms in their homes, planning and practicing a fire escape plan, and operating a fire extinguisher.
