We have multiple ways to volunteer at DARCC. To work directly with survivors of sexual violence and their loved ones, opportunities include assisting with DARCC’s 24/7 Crisis Hotline, providing hospital accompaniment, and by accompanying survivors to legal proceedings and/or accompanying survivors when making a report to law enforcement. Volunteers must pass a background check and complete a 40-hour Office of the Attorney General (OAG) mandated volunteer advocate training. Currently, the training is virtual. After training, volunteers are required to take a minimum of 2 shifts per month. Additionally, the Office of the Attorney General OAG requirements also mandate that all active volunteers receive six hours of continuing education per year.
