Dallas CASA will honor Betty Regard with the Caroline Rose Hunt Cherish the Children Award on Friday, April 19 at the Omni Dallas Hotel. The annual award recognizes an individual or organization for outstanding contributions helping child victims of abuse or neglect. The award was inspired by its namesake Mrs. Hunt because of her constant dedication to the most vulnerable in our city and helping people who could not help themselves. Regard was one of Dallas CASA’s earliest advocates and has remained a dedicated supporter of Dallas CASA since, serving on the board of directors, the advisory board and as one of the founding members of the Children’s Council.
Hosted by Dallas CASA Children’s Council, the luncheon is co-chaired by Lisa Tenorio Truppa and Jessilyn Thiboult Wilson.
Dallas CASA will host a panel discussion on the State of Child Welfare during the Cherish the Children luncheon. The panel will feature the Senior Vice President of Inclusion and Community Engagement at the Dallas Regional Chamber, Latosha Herron Bruff; the Superintendent of the Dallas Independent School District, Stephanie Elizalde; the Texas DFPS Commissioner, Stephanie Muth; and will be moderated by former Dallas CASA Board Chair and CEO of the Dallas Mavericks, Cynt Marshall.
