Meadows Symphony Orchestra: American Soundscapes
2:30 p.m.
Caruth Auditorium / Owen Arts Center
$17 for adults; $13 for seniors; $11 for students, faculty and staff
This concert features three distinct American voices. Scott Joplin wistfully uses habanera and tango in Solace. Joseph Schwantner’s Music of Amber accompanies two original poems which provide a landscape of extra-musical images and ideas. The concert concludes with Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring suite in its original 13 instrument orchestration.
