A familiar face at Sammons Jazz, drummer Efren Guzman fronts his own group for the first time in our concert series with his own group, the Buenos Días Social Club Latín Jazz Quartet. Joined by Tony Palos on piano, Fifo Rengifo on bass, and Ricardo Taglafierro on percussion, this set will turn strangers into amigos as Latin jazz energy courses through the room.
An up-and-coming artist with a sound straight out of the Jazz Age, vocalist Whitney James makes her debut at Sammons Jazz this fall. With impeccable technique that is never neglectful of intentionality and heart, The Whitney James Quartet will blow you away with contributions from Michael Clement on piano, Henry Beal on bass, and Quincy Davis on drums.
