Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center (DARCC) Volunteer Training

July 8 @ 6:00 pm - July 25 @ 9:30 pm

Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center (DARCC) provides survivors of sexual assault and their loved ones the resources they need to reclaim their lives. The staff and trained advocates help our clients navigate the journey of healing in a safe and confidential environment. DARCC’s comprehensive program includes counseling, crisis intervention, and advocacy; but there is also a dedication to social change through prevention education and outreach programs to the community.

DARCC’s Volunteer Training will take place July 8th – July 25th. The training is a total of 40 hours, will be virtual (via Zoom), and is required by the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) for anyone who is interested in volunteering for agencies that work directly with sexual assault survivors. Our volunteers can assist survivors by answering calls from our 24/7 crisis hotline, accompanying survivors during a sexual assault forensic exam, and by providing legal advocacy (e.g., court accompaniment, accompaniment to law enforcement agencies for initial reports/interviews) for survivors. Participants must attend all 40 hours and receive a certificate of completion before volunteering. Background checks will be done for all applicants.
