Stephen Knight: Dogs Matter
Stephen Knight founded Dogs Matter, a Dallas-based nonprofit founded in 2014, which provides temporary dog foster care placement and supportive services specifically for addicts and alcoholics in recovery. The choice to hand over a dog, even if temporary, is often the single biggest objection a dog owner facing an extended in-patient treatment program for alcohol or substance use disorder, and Stephen was determined to step in and meet a need.
