This year\, anchored by the DSO’s signature Christmas Pops\, Sounds of the Season will include an assortment of offerings that are sure to get the whole family in the holiday spirit\, including Country Christmas\, Carols with the King’s Singers\, The Polar Express™ in Concert and New Year’s Eve with the DSO. Festivities begin on December 1\, 2023\, with the opening night of Christmas Pops at 7:30 p.m. Christmas Pops is generously sponsored by CIBC. \n\nNorth Texans will have several opportunities to celebrate the season with the Dallas Symphony’s beloved holiday tradition\, Christmas Pops\, with matinee and evening shows December 1 – 10 at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. The program\, led by guest conductor Lawrence Loh will feature holiday favorites performed by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra\, the Dallas Symphony Chorus and the Dallas Symphony Children’s Chorus (DSCC will perform on select programs only). GRAMMY®- and Emmy Award-winning baritone\, Reginald Smith\, Jr. will return to the stage as the DSO’s featured soloist. DESCRIPTION:Two of Dallas’ largest arts organizations are partnering for their first full scale concert this September with themes of positivity\, investment in mental health and the unifying and soothing powers of music. At 7:30 PM on Tuesday\, September 19\, Turtle Creek Chorale and Dallas Symphony Orchestra will present ‘Sing For Our Lives\,’ a program that encourages us to extend a helping hand to those around us and\, equally importantly\, to ourselves. \nTurtle Creek Chorale and the DSO aim to create an unforgettable evening that resonates deeply with the audience. Featuring familiar works and new pieces for choir and orchestra\, the performance will also include four speakers who will share their inspirational journeys in a celebration of life\, leaving you better equipped to make a difference in your families and families of choice. \nAmong new music debuting at this concert are five new works commissioned by Turtle Creek Chorale composed by a diverse group of composers\, continuing a trend of investment in new\, innovative choral works that both appeal to modern audiences and support up and coming composers of color\, female composers\, and LGBTQ+ composers by TCC. TCC and the DSO will be joined by members of the Project Unity Choir and Make a Wish children for various numbers throughout the program.

The 39th annual fundraiser will be held on Monday\, February 13\, 2023 at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. \n“Sunie and I are so honored to serve as the 2023 St. Valentine’s Day luncheon co-chairs\, which will help raise awareness and funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission of finding cures for cancer and help improve the quality of life of patients and their families\,” said Katy Bock. “Plans are just now underway\, but we hope the community will save the date of February 13\, 2023 for what we hope will be a fabulous day supporting this important cause.” \nEvent highlights will include a champagne reception\, recognition of 2023 award recipients to be announced at a later date\, and of course\, the runway fashion show– all followed by a seated luncheon. \nFounded by Janet Evans and Rusty Duvall\, the Saint Valentine’s Day Luncheon and Fashion Show has raised more than $14.5 million in its 39 years\, funding research in Texas\, including UT Southwestern Medical Center. Since its inception\, some patient survival rates have doubled and countless advances have been made with new safer treatments for patients. \nThe Saint Valentine’s Day Luncheon and Fashion Show will be held on February 13\, 2023.
