Children and families can enjoy complimentary photos with Santa\, indulge in freshly baked cookies from Sugar and Sage Bakery\, and sip on festive treats from a hot chocolate bar provided by CN Catering. \nThe morning will also feature hands-on holiday activities and family-friendly fun including coloring areas and STEM experiments and demonstrations throughout the Museum’s hangar galleries\, creating a magical experience for visitors of all ages. \nEvent admission is free for Museum members\, and regular ticket prices apply for non-members. Guests can buy tickets ahead of time through the Frontiers of Flight website or at the door. Families are encouraged to arrive early to witness Santa’s exciting helicopter arrival and enjoy all the festivities. \nThe Frontiers of Flight Museum\, located at 6911 Lemmon Avenue on the southeast corner of Dallas Love Field Airport\, offers the perfect backdrop for this unique holiday tradition\, where aviation and imagination come together for a morning of joy and wonder. Justin “Astro” Elliott\, the former Commander and Lead Pilot of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and a prominent figure in the acclaimed Netflix documentary Air Force Elite: Thunderbirds. \nThe lecture series is named in honor of Caroline Rose Hunt\, a Dallas icon\, philanthropist\, and founder of the boutique charter airline Pumpkin Air\, known for its eye-catching\, orange-colored planes and helicopters in the 1980s. Laurie Sands Harrison\, her daughter\, will share a personal tribute with guests during the event\, telling the story of Pumpkin Air and honoring her mother’s enduring entrepreneurial spirit. \nThe highlight of the evening will be the keynote by Lt. Col. Justin “Astro” Elliott\, who most recently served as Commander of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds\, one of the world’s most elite aerial demonstration teams. A Yale University graduate and the only person to complete the Air Force’s elite “trifecta\,” the USAF Weapons School\, Test Pilot School\, and the Thunderbirds\, Lt. Col. Elliott has logged over 3\,000 flight hours\, including 255 combat hours across 33 aircraft types. The panel discussion\, “Generation Space: The Future is Now”\, will include a lesson on Apollo and Moon Phases\, activities on how to take your own awesome pictures of the moon\, and a rover driving contest. The Museum will also have Ruthie’s\, Easy Slider\, and Kona Ice food trucks for guests to purchase food during the event. \nWhile enjoying the many Moon Day festivities\, families are encouraged to explore the rich diversity of aviation and flight history throughout the two-level 100\,000-square-foot space.
