Join Dallas Hope Charities on Saturday, June 7 for a community-wide day of action to expand the Safe Place Program across Dallas-Fort Worth!
In partnership with the Dallas Police Department’s LGBTQ+ Liaison Unit, volunteers will canvas local businesses to introduce the Safe Place initiative—a program that designates participating locations as visibly affirming, trauma-informed spaces for LGBTQIA+ individuals experiencing bullying, hate crimes, harassment, or crisis.
🚶♀️ What to Expect:
– Meet fellow volunteers and receive materials & instructions
– Visit nearby businesses in groups to distribute Safe Place info
– Help register affirming locations on the spot
– Celebrate your impact at a fun after-party with food and community
🕙 Volunteer Shift: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
🎉 After-Party: 2:00 – 4:00 PM
📍 Meet-up location will be emailed to all registered volunteers 48 hours prior to the event
