SUMMARY:Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center Advocacy Volunteer
DESCRIPTION:DARCC’s Volunteer Training will take place June 15th-July 2nd. The training is a total of 40 hours\, will be virtual (via Zoom)\, and is required by the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) for anyone who is interested in volunteering for agencies that work directly with sexual assault survivors. Our volunteers can assist survivors by answering calls from our 24/7 crisis hotline\, accompanying survivors during a sexual assault forensic exam\, and by providing legal advocacy (e.g.\, court accompaniment\, accompaniment to law enforcement agencies for initial reports/interviews) for survivors. Participants must attend all 40 hours and receive a certificate of completion before volunteering. Background checks will be done for all applicants.

DESCRIPTION:We are excited to open a new branch of the Hugs Training Academy in Dallas on January 3rd! Hugs Cafe\, Inc. opened a Training Academy in 2022 to take our vocational training beyond those we currently employ at the cafe and greenhouse. The Hugs Training Academy curriculum is focused on providing entry level skills to students so they are ready to enter the workforce in the culinary or hospitably fields. \nWe are looking for volunteers on Tuesdays and Thursdays at our new site at Dallas College. Times are 10am-3pm and classes begin January 3rd.\nThe address is:\nDallas College Culinary\, Pastry and Hospitality Center\n11830 Webb Chapel Rd #1200\nDallas\, TX 75234 \nThere will be a short training in December available via zoom or on site at Dallas College.
